He converted to Shia Islam from Sunni Islam during his teenage years. He studied at the Hawza I.M.A.M Institute and also in the Holy city of Karbala Iraq. He is currently the wakeel ( representative ) of His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Mohammad Taqi Modressei.

Shaykh Saed Ali. Kulayni has worked at multiple Islamic Centers in the Atlanta and across America and abroad . Shaykh Saed Ali. Kulayni was the resident Alim ( Scholar )of Tampa Florida. Where he was the Islamic School Principal and he also held Thursday and Friday prayer services.
Shaykh Saed Ali Kulayni was the resident Alim of al Zahra Islamic Center in Charlotte, N.C where he perform all acts pertaining to the community.
Shaykh Saed Ali. Kulayni is the co founder of 2ndchance books which is the largest shia prison book program in America, he is also the co founder of household publication.Shaykh Saed Ali Kulayni has written multiple articles on Islam. His articles are on Ijtehad, The Important day, Why do Shia pray on clay tablets, To enjoin what right and forbid what is wrong and Why we combine prayers and others. He also has four published books called Islamic Inquiries:100 Question asked by Prisoners in the U.S which is three volumes and also book with 500 question which is the fourth installment of the series.

He was born in the United States to a Christian family, and later chose to convert to Shi’a Islam in 1999 at the age of 17, having studied both faiths. He started studying Islamic Seminary classes (Howza) in March 2013 at Imam Ali Center in Springfield, Virginia and studied abroad in Najaf al-Ashraf and Karbala and received his ‘amama (turban) from the esteemed marja’ Ayatollah Sayed Muhammad Taqi al-Modaressi in 2018. He earned a certificate from Harvard University in Islamic Studies, has filmed many documentaries about his journey to Islam, authored several books, taught in the Islamic Seminary (Howza), and is the founder of the nonprofit organization 2nd Chance Books (2014). He has lectured throughout the United States and various other countries spreading the message of Ahl ul Bayt (as). Since 2022 he has been residing in Antalya, Türkiye where he is the resident scholar of the local community and is continuing his work with 2nd Chance Books.

Br. Bilal supports brothers returning from incarceration as they reintegrate into society. He guides them through their transition into their local Islamic community, offering mentorship and support. In addition, he regularly visits prisons to deliver sermons and conduct classes that strengthen the faith of the brothers. Through the teachings of the Qur’an, Prophet Muhammad (s), and the Ahl al-Bayt (as), he helps them reform themselves and build a foundation for a righteous life. to reach Br.
